June, 2015: In the recent past, there has been a lot of awareness and talk about the PM’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. We’ve also seen a host of celebrities come out to clean up their localities and an in turn motivate us to take that first step to keeping our country clean. But how many of us have actually contributed to this initiative? We always ensure that we keep our homes clean, but what about our immediate surroundings and our country? Isn’t India our home too?

But how many of us have actually contributed to this initiative? We always ensure that we keep our homes clean, but what about our immediate surroundings and our country? Isn’t India our home too?
Surf excel saw this opportunity and partnered with mother and kids to encourage us to be responsible citizens and take the first step to contribute to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. They sent out this communication through a thought provoking video anthem via India’s largest social networking platform, Facebook.
The video carried a strong message on children leading the change to Keep India Clean and invited us to nominate their locality at http://daagachhehain.surfexcel.in/. Surf excel would then pickup localities across India and initiate a day wherein they would bring about an urban transformation.
Surf excel is about children getting dirty by doing good and in the process learning important life values. Given the whole recent sensitization around the PM’s Swachh Bharat initiative, the brand saw an opportunity wherein they could partner with communities and consumers to catalyze change.
The idea was to develop a sense of responsibility amongst children as they partnered with children and mothers to lead the change towards a cleaner India. After all, “Agar desh ki safai main daag lagte hain, toh daag achhe hain na!
