Saxena, Chairman, KVIC said that his negotiations have led to ONGC deciding to reward its employees in kind, at a value that is over three fold higher than the cash value.  ONGC has 34,236 regular employees and 1,063 non-regular employees totally 35299.  Saxena said that Artisans attached to his special sales drive will be given an additional 5% reward directly in their accounts through DBT.

In Maharahstra the ONGC has 6,783 employees for whom the exhibitions will start from 16 January to 28th February, 2017. The fist of such exhibitions already started from 16th to 30 January , 2017 from Mehsana in Gujarat and will cover ONGC installations at Ahmedabad, Barod, Ankleshwar, Hazira and Cambay Basin up to 4th  to 8th Feb 2017 where ONGC has highest numbers of employees i.e. 11,081.  Similarly KVIC has prepared a calendar for exhibitions in Andhra Pradesh from 27th to 8th February where as in Assam from 1st to 8th February and in Jaipur, Rajasthan from 17th January to 8th February has formulated 4 teams to start exhibition simultaneously in 4 places. Besides the tripartite benefit- sales to KVIC value for money for employees and staff goodwill to ONGC, the agreement will prove to be a unique model that helps in the sustainable development of rural artisanal communities.  Apart from higher productivity, the rural communities will also earn more and sustain a better quality of life. Hailed in both the business and social circles as a unique experiment of multi level sustainable development, the scheme highlights a model of socio-economic rewards for the producer and the consumer alike.  Mr. Saxena also explained that the scheme embodies the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s often repeated principle – ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’. KVIC will provide best quality Khadi products through 16 special exhibitions. Efforts would be made to ensure that 70-80 per cent of the sale would be readymade garments, with special focus on women and children of the employees.

KVIC is arranging sale in 23 locations at ONGC for the benefit of its employees and the sale at Mehsana, Ahmedabad ( Gujarat), Rajamundry ( Andhra Pradesh), Sivasagar( Assam), Delhi have already commenced and the response is overwhelming.    The total sales are to the tune of Rs.9,74,79,826.32 from KVIC-ONGC Exhibition all over India till 14th February, 2017. This noble gesture of ONGC for supporting Khadi for providing bulk orders of value of Rs.60 crores including supplies of CRPF, SRP etc will provide employment of 6 lakh man days to Khadi artisans and provide as much needed captive marketing support to the Khadi institutions. The tie-up between KVIC and ONGC is a win-win since the ONGC employees will get value for money and eco-friendly products and the Khadi artisans will be benefited by captive market and sustained employment.
