VRINDAVAN SPRING- SUMMER COLLECTION 2017 BY ANJALI JANI
by Shrutee K/DNS
Designer Anjali Jani brings back the love story and the inspirational era of Radha & Krishna with her new spring summer collection ‘Vrindavan’, the land where this love story for the ages was born and bloomed. Of all the love stories that Indians are inspired by, none is more inspirational than that of Radha & Krishna. Legends say that the land is so blessed by this love that its trees abound with flowers and fruit and the birds sing sounds like the hymns of the Sama Veda.
With Vrindavan, Anjali Jani hopes to help you share in that ecstasy.
This collection has been created from handloom silks like dupion silk, raw silk, linen, muga tussar and jute silk. The fabrics are embellished with a blend of detailed thread work and beautiful zardosi embroidery that brings the flora and fauna of Vrindavan to life. The colour palette is varied and ranges from mainly pastel shades to mesmerising combination of blue, black and red that represents the many shades of Radha, Krishna and their passion.
What makes Vrindavan so beautiful is the striking silhouettes that set apart this collection. From traditional lehengas to dhotis to contemporary jackets and capes captured in styles like sharara pants with cropped tops and draped dresses - this collection sparks and endures as the love its inspired by.
