Aromas from the Kitchens of Mumbai spice up Dabur Hommade HomeStar contest

Rich and elegant aroma from the kitchens of Mumbai filled the ITM School of Culinary Arts in Lokhandwala, the venue of the Western regional round for Dabur Hommade HomeStar Contest, a national culinary contest organized by India’s leading packaged foods Company Dabur India Ltd. The winner of this contest, which aims to identify and acknowledge the unsung culinary talents in Indian homes would win a trip to New York and dine with Michelin Starred Chef, Author, TV Judge and Host - Vikas Khanna in his restaurant named Junoon.

Chef Yogesh Utekar, Principal, ITM Institute of Culinary Arts judged the city finale today. Speaking on the occasion, Chef Utekar said, “Given today’s hectic lifestyle and time constraint, cooking has become even more challenging for everyone at home. I salute all those women and men who day in day out dish out finger-licking tasty dishes for their family.  Dabur Hommade, with its ready-to-cook range of culinary pastes and purees, has made life little easier for all of us. It is indeed a great initiative by the brand to give an opportunity to the Queens & Kings of Indian kitchen to take their culinary skills outside the closed confines of their kitchen and share it with the world. The variety in taste and colour that I found the participants brining in today to the various dishes truly showcases the richness of Indian cuisine. This is a wonderful platform that recognizes the tremendous effort homemakers make every day in making tasty dishes for the whole family.”

Dabur Hommade HomeStar contest was flagged of by internationally acclaimed Masterchef Vikas Khanna a month back wherein people were invited to share their secret recipes. More than 5000 entries were received from across the country, with the city of Mumbai alone accounting for over 1,000 of these entries. After several rounds of screening by an independent jury, 30 shortlisted participants were called for the city finale today. The top three winners of the city round would now join the finalists coming from Delhi and Bangalore in the Grand Finale to be held in New Delhi in May, wherein Master Chef Vikas Khanna would select the winner of the Dabur Hommade HomeStar contest.
