of Institutions - THE SCINTILLATING VOYAGE OF 50 YEARS
The NES & SVB
Group of Institutions drew its curtain on the Year long Golden Jubilee programme
with the Valedictory Function on 12thApril 2013 at the
Shanmukhananda Hall Auditorium. The function was graced by Prof. Dr B.L
Mungekar –Hon. MP and former Vice-Chancellor Of Mumbai University, Mr.
Balanadgaonkar Sr. MNS leader, Mr. Subhas Mayekar- Chairman Siddhi Vinayak
Trust, Mr. Niranjan Davkhare NCP member, Mr.Vivek Naik – MD Quantum Mortgage
Corp, US and Mr. David Widd Deputy Consul General of South Africa
In his welcome address
the Founder-President Dr. R Varadarajan briefly dwelt on his educational voyage of 50
years and the challenges he faced. Announcing his future projects he
highlighted on the Vocational Degree College to be set up by the educational
group at Dharavi. He recalled the contribution of
Late.Mrs. Saraswathi Varadarajan and the sacrifice made by
her to develop the group of 50 institutions.
The Chief Guest of the function Dr. B.L Mungekar unveiled a
marble plaque to declare the Valedictory function open.To commemorate the Golden Jubilee Year a
documentary film on “Birth and Growth of the educational group and highlighting
the hallmark events of the celebration
was screened.
The dignitaries released a commemorative brochure on 50 events
conducted during the Yearlong Golden Jubilee Programme and highlighted on the
achievements of the Institution in the last 50 years.
The Educational Group in association with Indian Merchants
Chamber had organized a competition on “Clean and Green Degree College in the
city. SIES College, Sion was felicitated
as the best college in this category.
The dignitaries felicitated the student and staff achievers
for long years of service rendered to the institution and for outstandin
contribution during the year.
In his consecratory address, the Chief Guest Dr. Bhalachandra
Mungekar former appreciated the efforts of the educational group in having
completed 50 Glorious Years in the field of education and congratulated Dr.
Varadarajan for taking the initiative to encourage vocational education in the
country by setting up a vocational degree college in the country.
A special Golden jubilee memento was released on the
occasion.

appreciated the efforts of all those who had helped in making the 50
years voyage purposeful and eventful.
Golden
Jubilee Valedictory Function and Foundation Day Celebrations
NES-SVB
Group of Institutions completed 50yrs of
educational voyage on 14thApril, 2013. A spectacular Valedictory
function was organized at NES Complex, Bhandup
to mark the completion of 50 yrs. The event also marked the Foundation
Day Celebration of the Educational
Group.
The function
was graced by Shri. Manohar Joshi Former Lok Sabha Speaker and Sr.Leader Shiv Sena as the Chief Guest of the function.
It was presided by Shri. Leeladhar Dhake- Former Minister for Industries and
Law, Govt. of Maharashtra. Also present on the occasion were Sardar Tara Singh-
MLA, Mr.Datta Dalvi Ex. Mayor of Mumbai ,Mrs.Deepa Badhe -Chief Officer Women’s
Subdivision, Shiv Sena and Mr.Vivek Naik MD Quantum Mortagage Corp,USA.
In his
welcome address the Founder-President of NES-SVB Education Group Dr.R
Varadarajan shared his experiences and challenges faced by him in these 5o years of educational mission.
The
dignitaries released a commemorative Souvenir on the educational voyage of the
group highlighting the 50 events of cultural, sports and social values conducted by 50 institutions of
the educational group during the Year-Long Golden Jubilee Programme.
The staff
and students of the group were
felicitated with a special Golden jubilee memento.The dignitaries also
felicitated the staff and the student achievers for their outstanding
performance and contribution to the group during the year.
In his
address the Chief Guest Shri .Manohar Joshi appreciated Dr. Varadarajan for his
exemplary contribution to the cause of education. He congratulated all members
of the group for having completed 50 glorious years in the field of education
and reaching out to all sections of the society.
Mr.
Balasubramanian V Director NES-SVB Education Group complemented the staff
members for making these 50 years glorious, purposeful and eventful.
About the Educational
Group
National Education Society (NES) began
its educational voyage from Bhandup (W) with a school in 1963. The school had
in its first batch just 7 students. Today NES and its sister trust, Saraswathi
Vidya Bhavan (SVB) are at the threshold of their Golden Jubilee year. It is not
only the number of years completed which is making the NES & SVB feel
privileged but also the accomplishment of its mission of providing quality
education of diversified nature to a large section of the society. The 50
institutions of high quality offer courses from Kindergarten to Ph.D. level, in
a number of disciplines, including professional courses of various levels
conducive to country’s economic progress. These institutions cater to the needs
of different strata of society including the poorest of poors, the disabled and
the deprived ones.

NES & SVB group and the Founder,
Dr.R.Varadarajan have received numerous Awards, Accolades and Recognitions
during their voyage of 50 years from,
State, National as well as International levels, which briefly are:-

1992: “Best Principal” Award on the Founder
by Rotary International
·
1994: “Outstanding Educationist” Award on
the Founder by His Excellency Governor of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry and also
the Governor of Maharashtra.

1995: National Award on the Founder from the Hon’ble President of
India
·
1995: Release of Postal Stamp (canc.) by
Govt. of India in honour of NES Institutions.
·
1995:“Vidya Jyot” Award for Founder’s
Excellence in Education by Parthasarathy International Academy, New Delhi.
·
2002: Recognition of the Founder as
‘Messiah of Education’ by Hon’ble Speaker of Lok Sabha for his outstanding contribution
in Education.
·
2006: “Vidya Guru” Award by Lions
International on the Founder.
·
2006: Recognition as “Education Leader” for the Founder and his institutions by the Asia
famed magazine “The Education World”.
·
2007: NES Group and the Founder honoured
with “Indian Merchants’ Chamber Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award”
(2006), as the Best in the Country by the industrial icons of Indian Merchants’
Chamber, during its Centenary Celebrations.

2009 and 2011: were equally coined with 2 unprecedented
International honours as highlighted under ‘A Trend Setter’
A Trend Setter
NES-SVB group has been a trendsetter in the field of education striking
many a firsts in its achievement. To mention a few:
·
1997: As the first Outstanding Educationist
of India “Netaji Centenary” Award , was
conferred by Dr. Anita Bose Pfaff, daughter of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
·
2004: as a first school in history of Education history,
a team of NES school students was sent to Indo-Pak borders to boost the morale
of our jawans with a strong passion for patriotism, carrying appreciation and
blessings of the President of India.
·
2009: A first honour in India, a TRIPLE BRITISH
HONOUR, , was conferred with British
Fellowship on the Founder, British
Corporate Membership and British
Quality Mark on NES-SVB group of Institutions by the world famed British
Institute for Learning and Development, UK.
·
2011: As the first Indian Educationist, the
Founder was honoured at the British House of Commons by Mr. George Mudie, Sr.
Statesman and Member of British Parliament for his enormous contribution to the
cause of education.
·
2012: As the only invitee-school form South Asia a
team of IB students of NES International School Mumbai-IB World School visited the
United Nations, to attend its assembly on MUN from 7th March to 10th
March, 2012 at New York.
·
2012: The first Education Group in India to
have established 50 enviable
institutions in 50 years
