Corporation of India ltd. held its Second Business Commencement Day
Commemorative Lecture. Shri Saumitra Chaudhuri (Member, Planning Commision &
Member, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister) spoke on “Managing the
External Sector: Raising Exports towards more Balanced Trade.”
Shri Saumitra Chaudhuri
is an eminent personality; he joined the Planning Commission as Member in June
2009. Prior to that and from January 2005 he has been and continues to be a
Member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister. He has headed
several committees set up the Government of India and served as member on
several others. Shri Chaudhuri has over twenty five monographs and papers
spanning issues of industry, the financial sector, regional development and
fiscal policy.
Shri S.R. Rao(Commerce
Secretary, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Govt of India) presided over the
function. Shri N. Shankar(Chairman, cum Managing Director), Smt Geeta
Muralidhar(Executive Director) alongwith Ms. Padmavathy. R (General Manager)
represented ECGC on the dais.
