CSR is Collective Social Responsibility

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Western Region organised the CII CSR Conclave to provide partnership opportunities and awareness to all CSR stakeholders on the various collaborative opportunities for fund raising, project implementation etc. The focus of the Conclave was to build effective partnerships and engaging in effective planning for delivering, and measuring the economic, social and environmental impacts.
At the Inaugural address Mrs Sangita Jindal, Chairperson, JSW Foundation spoke about the initiatives undertaken by JSW towards national causes as well as various interventions aimed at heritage development and improvement, women empowerment, alleviating poverty etc.
Shweta Shalini, Executive Director, Maharashtra Village Social Transformation Foundation spoke about CSR being a “Collective Social Responsibility” rather than Corporate Social Responsibility. She emphasized the need for channelizing and efforts and maximising social impact by giving back to society. She explained about convergence and partnerships being the key towards effective social development.
The Conclave also has case study presentations by some eminent trusts and foundations that showed the projects and scope for partnerships and key panel discussions that outlined scope for stakeholder partnership.
