interactive Bird Park opens in Mumbai

birds from more than 60 different species around the World
Mumbai, 11th April 2019: EsselWorld Leisure Pvt. Ltd.,
the family entertainment arm of the $6-billion Essel Group, opened
India’s first exotic and interactive walk through Bird Park – ‘EsselWorld Bird
Park’ in Mumbai. At par with international standards, this Park is spread across
a sprawling 1.4 acres of land, rainforest themed; it is surrounded by flora and
fauna. The Bird Park is home to over 500 exotic birds from more than 60 species
of flying, terrestrial and aquatic birds. It complements country’s largest
amusement park- EsselWorld and theme water park- Water Kingdom, both part of ELPL.
EsselWorld Bird Park also hosts 200
species of special plants and trees and thereby presents a perfectly suited
lush green habitat for the birds that also represents a nature interpretation
centre. Mindful of the importance of bird conservation, EsselWorld has roped in
experts to take utmost care of the birds and preserve their new habitat in a
natural and eco-sensitive manner in a carefully designed and propositioned
environment. The park also houses a special bird’s kitchen and a healthcare
center.

Among the star attractions at the
Bird Park are the flying birds, such as the African Grey Parrot, Blue Gold
Macaw, Cockatiel, Rainbow Lorikeet, Toucan, Black Lory and Violet Turaco;
terrestrial birds including the California Quail, Golden Pheasant and Ostrich;
aquatic birds such as the Black Swan, American Wood Duck and Mandarin Duck,
among many other varieties.

One of many exciting features of
the bird park is that visitors can observe the exotic birds from up close, feed
them with their own hands and take pictures. It also has a feeding deck, a
rainforest walk, Rainbow Walk, a Shopping Nest- The merchandise shop and an
amphitheatre called the Woodpecker’s Stadium where visitors can interact with
the birds. The park has installed a first of its kind in India walk-in aviary
where visitors will get a chance to explore free movements of exotic birds.
