Corporation Bank observes Vigilance Awareness Week


MANGALORE: As per directions of Central Vigilance Commission, New Delhi, city based Corporation Bank is observing vigilance awareness week from October 29 to November 3, 2012 This year, the theme of the week is "Transparency in Public Procurement".

The week commenced at the corporate office of the bank here with Ashwani Kumar, executive director, administering the pledge to all employees, including senior officials of the bank.

KS Somayaji, general manager and chiefvigilance officer, read out messages received from dignitaries and the commission. All branches and administrative offices across India are also observing the week. On this occasion, bank is conducting online quiz competition for employees across India and two-day workshop forexecutives/ officials working in vigilance division. A lecture on transparency in publicprocurement has also been arranged.

Mayor praises the footballing talent of Mumbai as he announces young stars will travel to London

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, announced the names of the successful youngsters on the first day of his trade mission to India. Sadiq was attending the ninth annual finals day of the Mumbai Soccer Challenge and watched a challenge match to win the inaugural Mayor of London Cup. He confirmed that, for the first time in the scheme’s nine-year history, two girls as well as two boys will be heading to London.
