PNB MetLife and Insurance Foundation of India successfully conclude Insurance Awareness Workshops


Importanceand basic concepts of insurance shared through film, jingle and comicbooks

Jammu,October 18, 2016: PNB MetLife,one of India’s leading life insurance companies, announces the successful conclusion of its Insurance Awareness Program, hosted over 6 days across 50+ villages in Jammu & Samba districts in Jammu & KashmirThe company has reached out to 150,000 people through the roadshows and had close to 1200 people attending workshops on basics and importance of insurance. Supported by Jammu & Kashmir Bank and conducted in partnership with Insurance Foundation of India (IFI), a leading NGO, the insurance major continuous to educate masses and help them become financially independent and self-sustaining.

The professionally managed workshops were appreciated for usage of digital content simplifying the subject and received complete attention of attendees. 40% of all attendees were females there by providing a boost to the financial empowerment of women. During the workshops, the IFI trainer shared a presentation on the different aspects of insurance highlighting the need for insurance. Special emphasis was laid on answering audience queries to demystify insurance myths. This is a second in the series of workshops conducted by PNB MetLife on Insurance awareness. The series was launched in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh earlier this year. With a cumulative outreach of 230,000 people across Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, PNB MetLife continues to reach out to the rural and semi-urban population driving the key message of insurance awareness and financial inclusion.

In addition to this, PNB MetLife has been successfully running programs for the development of children in the valley. The company successfully benefited over 700 children along with NGO partner CRY by mainstreaming them in government schools last year through a unique concept called Children Activity Centres (CAC). The state government has not just recognized CAC but is also considering adopting it as a model for Non Residential Bridge Course (NRBC) of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan, which is a landmark achievement, earned by the company.
