Vacheron Constantin celebrates the Launch of The New Overseas Collection in India

Mumbai, India, October 8, 2016- Vacheron Constantin, the world’s oldest Haute Horlogerie manufacture with 261 years of uninterrupted history, celebrated the launch of its new Overseas collection for Middle East & India region at The Great Eastern Home, Mumbai, India.
The distinguished launch evening witnessed a unique perspective on the travel spirit of the new Overseas collection through a multi-sensorial brand experience, in presence of the Brand CEO, Mr. Juan-Carlos Torres.
With their casual elegance and practicality, the new Overseas timepieces embody the spirit of travel in all its glory, reflecting the essence of contemporary Fine Watchmaking.
Dedicated to comfort, the new Overseas models are the ideal companions of modern world travelers who are steadily enriched by every successive encounter and every fresh discovery. To highlight this perspective of the world shaped by travel, Vacheron Constantin has selected a legendary photographer, who places the notion of humanity at the very heart of his work:
Steve McCurry.
Behind this partnership lies the notion of eternity, the common denominator between the photographer and the Manufacture, as much with regard to the representation of the world as to the expression of time.
The overseas tour offers a distinct perspective on the world through the lens of this great lensman. Like the 12 hours of the dial, the photojournalist immortalized 12 unexpected locations including Chand Baori step well in Rajasthan, India. This ancient step well is a legendary and mesmerizingly beautiful work of art intermingling symbolic ornamentation and optical illusions. Located near a temple in Abhaneri, in the state of Rajasthan, it has been a major centre of social life through the centuries. Some of the other locations include Leshan (China), Grand Central Terminal (New York, U.S.A), Tsuru-no-yu Onsen (Japan), Aqueduct of Padre Tembleque (Mexico) to name a few.
Guests were invited to a journey of discovery through the Overseas tour captured by Steve McCurry’s artworks, along with all the collection's distinctive technical features on display.

Overseas- A unique perspective of the world
Vacheron Constantin is reinventing one of its iconic collections, Overseas. Created in a spirit of casual elegance and practicality, five new models (12 references) equipped with Manufacture movements – including three new calibers – embody the new generation of self-winding timepieces inspired by the spirit of travel. All models, whether in steel or gold, from the simplest to the most complicated, bear the Hallmark of Geneva and are fitted with easily interchangeable bracelets/straps, a guarantee of comfort anywhere in the world. Alongside watches featuring simple displays (hours, minutes, seconds, with or without date), the collection also comprises chronographs and ultra-thin timepieces.

Overseas -Versatile Elegance
Vacheron Constantin is opening up whole new horizons for its emblematic watch dedicated to world travelers, Overseas, through original creations adopting an eminently versatile attitude thanks to their interchangeable straps/bracelet. Delivered with a leather and rubber strap as well as a metal bracelet, Overseas will offer even more stylish options for the festive season thanks to an array of strap colors.
These new strap colours enable the wearer to adapt the watch to changing circumstances or wishes. A sense of freedom that is rendered even more appealing by the ease with which one can rapidly switch from one to another of the straps/bracelet, or indeed change its folding clasp or buckle without any need for a tool.
