24th April, 2015: Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management, concluded first of its kind ‘SHRM India HR Technology Conference & Exposition’, the most powerful confluence of people, business and technology. The one day conference and exposition witnessed the presence of over 450+ delegates, including mid & senior level HR professionals and corporate leaders from 120 + organizations along with acclaimed Thought Leaders from all over the world.  The gathering also presented an opportunity for delegates to share their experiences with various facets of technology and to connect with experts and organizations across wide range of fields through uniquely constructed sessions.


Three major announcements were also made during the conference The launch of an integrated HR Executive certificate programme by SHRM along with XLRI, Jamshedpur and Talentedge, ‘Top 25 Indian HR Influencers on Social Media’ Report by SHRM and launch of Next-gen Referral Hiring Technology Solution by GrownOut. The HR Executive certificate programme will provide a comprehensive understanding of Human Resource Management and will prepare the professionals for future HR Leadership roles. The top 25 HR influencers report highlights the contribution of leading HR professional on social media platform and the new software tool by GrownOut will enable the HR personnel across all verticals to easily manage talent acquisition using online space.



The key agenda of the conference was focused on addressing the rapidly evolving workplaces, exponential technology advancements and ever changing role of HR professionals. ‘The impact of Millennial Generation in top management and changing cultures in digital age’, How to make referral hiring a primary source of recruitment, How to successfully create a Social Mobile Technology Oriented workspaces and how CHROs and CTOs together meeting the mobility challenges , were some of the key trends and topics discussed during the event.

In his keynote address, Mr.Jamie Notter shared his views about how the rise of the Millennial generation into management positions will change the way that successful companies operate.  During his speech he identified four key capacities that organizations need to succeed in this new normal. The session also focused on implications for HR leaders who would want to lead this change. 

Mr. Sumit Gupta, CEO, Grownout in his session, highlighted the roadblocks faced in referral hiring. He specially emphasized on the three pronged referral hiring process involving the Recruiter, Employee and the Candidates. He also launched the Grownout's technology based solution at the conference that aims to negate such roadblocks and create the Next Gen referral hiring solution.


In his session, Mr. Arun Dhaka, Country Sales Director – Cornerstone On Demand, India & South Asia, talked about the future ready social mobile technology oriented workspaces. He discussed about how talent technology platform of the future must not be simply a place where employees come to take a course or complete a performance review but rather a destination where employees come to do their jobs more effectively. It must empower them at all levels to be successful in their role and career with social capabilities build into all of “talent functionalities” that work seamlessly together. 

Mr. Abhijit Bhaduri session included the discussion around the combined efforts of both CHROs and CTOs meeting the mobility challenge and the ever growing popularity of smartphones. The session also highlighted benefits of the BYOD movement while also emphasizing on the key challenges and the organizational risks linked with BYOD.
