India – An excited crowd of over 200 people came
together recently to celebrate the women who have created an impact in
different areas such as films, law, media, health, art and sports and have in
turn worked to impact other women, thus having a long-lasting effect on women
in all walks of life and society in general. IMPACT is an initiative of the IMC Ladies’ Wing to award those
women who impact other women and society at large. This event celebrated and
honored every facet of womanhood in the most contemporary and relevant way. In
the spirit of its commitment to address women’s issues, empower their social,
political and entrepreneurial status and provide a forum to create solutions,
IMPACT endeavours to bring together people diverse in experience.
Mrs. Mohana Nair, President
IMC Ladies Wing stated, “My personal experience has shown that successful women
often stood tall because of other women in their lives who made it possible –
their mothers, their mothers in law, their sisters, friends and their women
colleagues. This made us at IMC Ladies Wing to choose "Stronger Together”
which is really about women helping each other get more strength and success in
what we do collectively. What I didn’t realise at the time was how relevant
this theme would be over the year. Across the world, we are seeing examples of
women sticking their necks out for others in their tribe. It just made sense in
that context that our theme for Impact 2019 should be “Women Impacting Women”. We are honoured and humbled to host this
event where we have had the good fortune of honouring some truly impactful
women. Each of our awardees is a not just a super achiever but also women who
have truly created impact in the society. We thank them for their work, time
and also our event partners ITC Grand Central as our hospitality partner,
supported by Mahindra & Mahindra, the Bajaj group and our event partner
Archers Entertainment Pvt Ltd for all their support. Once again we are truly
humbled and as we move on we are certain that we will continue to see this
surge in women impacting women.”
