  1. Maharashtra CM Prithviraj Chavan to inaugurate AIMA 39th National Management Convention on Sept 25-26

    Mumbai, September 20, 2012: The 39th National Management Convention (NMC) will be held in Mumbai this year. The two-day Convention, scheduled for September 25-26, will be inaugurated by Mr. Prithviraj Chavan, Chief Minister, Government of Maharashtra. The NMC will also host senior leaders like Mr. Kamal Nath, Minister for Urban Development & Poverty Alleviation; Mr. Sachin Pilot, Minister of State for Communication & IT, Dr. Arun Maira, Member Planning Commission amongst others.
    The NMC is organized by the apex body of management in India, All India Management Association (AIMA) in collaboration with the Bombay Management Association.
    The Convention is taking place in the backdrop of persistent negative signals from the global economy and worsening macro-economic indicators at home. The NMC will focus on the urgent issues of growth management and put the enterprises at the centre of the growth management agenda; with its core theme: ‘Re-Thinking the Enterprise: Igniting Growth with Responsibility’.Spread over two days and eight sessions, the NMC will have the country’s political and business leaders present their prescriptions for restoring the growth momentum and ensuring responsible growth.
    The NMC will examine the management capability of Indian enterprises to lead growth revival under the present circumstances. It will also look at how enterprises of today can catalyze innovation while deliberating on fostering entrepreneurship and evaluating the growth potential of the recently announced economic reforms.
    The NMC is chaired by Mr. N Chandrasekaran, Managing Director & CEO, Tata Consultancy Services. Deloitte India is AIMA’s Knowledge Partner for the NMC.
    Many iconic CEOs and eminent management experts will address the NMC.  They include Mr. R C Bhargava, Chairman, Maruti Suzuki; Mr. Sanjiv Goenka, Chairman, RP- Sanjiv Goenka Group; Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto; Mr. Shivinder Singh, Vice Chairman, Fortis Healthcare; Mr. Aditya Ghosh, President, Indigo Airlines; Mr. Rajiv Kaul, Chairman, NICCO Corporation to name a few.
    At the end of the NMC, AIMA will collate the key insights and ideas presented by the eminent speakers and convert those into recommendations to the Government of India.
    AIMA will felicitate some outstanding business leaders with its awards and fellowships at the NMC.
    The champion teams of AIMA’s management contests for young managers and management students will be presented their awards at the NMC.
    The All India Management Association (AIMA) is the apex body of the management profession in India. Over the last five decades, AIMA has contributed immensely to the enhancement of management capability in the country.
    AIMA has 66 Local Management Associations as its affiliate, including two cooperating LMAs abroad. It has more than 30,000 members. AIMA is a non-lobbying organization. It works closely with the industry, the government, and the academia to improve the education and practice of management.
    AIMA is represented on the governing boards of many premier management schools, including the IIMs. AIMA is also represented on the boards of many government bodies, including the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), National Board of Accreditation (NBA), and National Productivity Council (NPC).AIMA makes a salutary contribution to management learning and practice in the country by offering various services in the areas of testing, distance education, research, publications and management development programmes.
    AIMA brings to the Indian managers, the best management practices and techniques through numerous foreign collaborations with professional bodies and institutions.AIMA is a member of the Asian Association of Management Organizations (AAMO) and works closely with several international management institutions like Insead, St Gallen Foundation etc. in organizing international conferences and management development programmes.
