President, Vice President, PM greet nation on Diwali

President and Vice President and Prime Minister have greeted the nation on the occasion of Diwali.

In his message, the President Pranab Mukherjee has said, Diwali is a time for festivity and happiness cutting across all faiths and cultures.It is an occasion to share joy with those who are needy and deprived.Mr. Mukherjee urged people to try and celebrate a pollution free Diwali.
Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari says the celebration of Diwali promotes the spirit of love, compassion and brotherhood amongst us and at the same time removes bigotry, hatred and ignorance from the midst.He hopes that the festival of lights may shower peace, progress and prosperity on all.
Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has also greeted the nation on the occasion of Diwali. In his message, Dr Singh expressed the hope that the festival of lights will mark the beginning of a new phase of optimism for the countrymen.He also wished peace and prosperity for the people.

Mumbaikars kick off “Clean Shores” Drive at Versova Beach

Present to support the cause were Erik Solheim, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Head of UN Environment and Aditya Thackeray, Leader and Chairperson of the Shiv Sena and President of Yuva Sena . Oman Tourism Launches New “www.experienceoman.com” website

The website was lau nched under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture during a gala dinner that was hosted on the sidelines of the 2nd UNWTO/UNESCO World Conference on Tourism and Culture that was recently held in Muscat.
