Jonty Rhodes serves the first Debonairs Pizza to Mumbaikars at the brand’s first outlet in Andheri

 South Africa’s leading pizza chain, Debonairs Pizza opened its first outlet in Andheri with South Africa’s best known cricketer Jonty Rhodes, launching him as the brand ambassador for the pizza chain today.

 

The legendary all-rounder launched his namesake – ‘Jonty’s special Durban Chicken Pizza’ whilst giving specially autographed Debonairs Pizzas and memorabilia to the first 50 customers who entered the outlet.

 

Present at the launch event were the biggies of South Africa that included the South African Consulate General in Mumbai, H.E. Pule Malefane, Famous Brand CEO Kevin Hedderwick, Diwa Hospitality and Parekh Group Director Yogesh Parekh and many other dignitaries.

 

Commenting on his association with Debonairs Pizza, Jonty Rhodes said, “Debonairs Pizza has always been a family favourite for us. It gives me immense pride to bring my favourite South African Pizza, Debonairs Pizza to my second home, Mumbai.  I am a huge fan of Debonairs Pizzas and getting to represent the brand was too tempting to resist. I just had to tuck in!”

The Mumbai outlet not only marks the pizza chain’s and Famous Brands’ (the parent brand and South Africa's leading Quick Service and Casual Dining Restaurant franchisor) first foray into the Indian Market, but also launches the cricketing legend as the official brand ambassador for Debonairs Pizza from India.

The tempting menu at Debonairs Pizza’s first outlet will give Mumbaikars a chance to delight their taste buds with the South African flavours and Spices that have never served in Mumbai before.  On offer are pizzas like the Chicken/Paneer Makhani, Cheese and Chutney Pop-Itz (smaller pizza puffs), as also Debonairs Pizza’s USPs in the form of Triple Decker and Filla (Double-decker) pizzas., that have been especially created for the Indian Markets.

Debonairs Pizza is known for its quick delivery system and a promise of delivering hot pizzas at the doorstep of consumers. The Famous Brands has appointed family-owned Diwa Hospitality Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of the Parekh Group conglomerate, a master License partner in the territory to manage the business on behalf of the Group.

Debonairs Pizza currently has 345 restaurants in South Africa and a further 60 restaurants in 14 other African countries. The Mumbai outlet is now open at Shubham Co Operative Housing Society, Government Layout No. 5, Juhu Versova Link Road, Andheri West, Mumbai.
