Maha’ CM Chavan confers 9th Indo-American Corporate Excellence Awards
Hon’ Maharashtra Chief Minister, Mr. Prithviraj Chavan, who holds a Masters Degree from University of California, Berkeley, was the Chief Guest and conferred the 9th Indo-American Corporate Excellence Awards (9th I-ACE awards) to the best Indian and American companies for their outstanding performance in their respective sectors at a star studded gala held in the Regal Room of the Trident Hotel in Nariman Point, Mumbai. Aegis emerged as the overall winner, whereas Mahindra & Mahindra, P&G and Gitanjali Gems where other winners in technology, FMCG and Jewelry categories respectively.
Guests of Honor at the function were Mr. Dilip Walse-Patil, Hon’ Speaker ,Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and Mr. Peter Haas, the US Consul General in Mumbai. Whereas, Bollywood celebrities - Prabhudeva, Gulshan Grover, Poonam Dhillon and Girish Kumar were the special guests. The 500 strong guest list of the gala event which also marked the celebration of 237th American Independence Day included - leading Indian and American businessmen, MNC bigwigs, diplomats, bureaucrats, celebrities and socialites.Some of the prominent names who attended the event were- Mr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Mrs. Indu Shahani, Dr. Manju Nichani, Mr. Anand Desai, Dr. Lalit Kanodia, Mr. Akhil Jindal, Rael Padamsee, Suketu Shah, Mrs.Jayawantiben Patel & Mr.Raj Prohit.
The key dignitaries who represented the Indo-American chamber of Commerce (IACC) at the function were - Mr. Nanik Rupani, Regional President-IACC, Dr. Rajlaxmi Rao, Chairperson - 9th I-ACE Awards Committee and Ms. Rakhi Panda, Regional Director-IACC.
9th I-ACE Awards: An eminent jury of Indian and American industrialists and dignitaries which includes names like - Mr. Peter Haas, Mr. Nadir Godrej, Mr. Nimesh Kampani, Mr. Harsh Mariwala and Dr. K K Nohria selected the Best Indian Companies in US and the Best US Companies in India in their respective sector of expertise, who were awarded for their outstanding performances in past one year. A number of prominent Indian and US companies had participated this year in the below mentioned categories.
