SHEAFFER CELEBRATES 100 YEARS OF FINE WRITING

~Commemorates its legacy by launching limited edition collections 2013~

In 1913, a gentleman named Walter A. Sheaffer began a company in the backroom of his jewellery store in Fort Madison, Iowa, USA. He had an idea about “pen-filling apparatus” that would work on a lever system and wanted to create ‘the pen.’ A century later, Sheaffer Pens has expanded across the world and continues to produce some of the most exclusive and innovative pens the world has ever seen.
William Penn, the largest distributor of Sheaffer pens in the world, celebrated the milestone of completing 100 years through the “100 Years & More - Sheaffer Centenary Celebration” at Shangrila Hotel, Mumbai.

Sheaffer also launched two limited edition pens - the ‘Legacy Heritage Centennial Limited Edition’ and the ‘Centennial Limited Edition’ - to commemorate the occasion. These collections truly honor and celebrate the rich history of Sheaffer, capturing the key events and personalities that have made Sheaffer synonymous with style and quality.

The Legacy Heritage Centennial Limited Edition Fountain Pen features Walter A. Sheaffer, Craig R. Sheaffer, and the first Sheaffer factory engraved in sterling silver with palladium plate trim and a palladium plated 18K gold Inlaid Nib. '1913-2013' is engraved on the band of each instrument, which also bears the White Dot, Sheaffer trademark symbol of writing excellence.

The Sheaffer Legacy Heritage Centennial Limited Edition comes in two editions – a Gold Fountain Pen, limited worldwide to 45 pens - representing Walter A. Sheaffer’s age at the time he founded the company. The Silver Fountain Pen is limited worldwide to 516 pens, representing the day and month of incorporation.
The Sheaffer Legacy Limited Edition is limited to 1913 pieces, indicating the year in which Sheaffer was incorporated.
Sheaffer also unveiled a new line of Men’s Leather Accessories, which includes leather wallets, travel accessories and business card holders.

The Men’s Leather Accessories and Limited Edition pens are available exclusively at William Penn, which is India’s only multi-brand luxury pen retail store.

Sheaffer displayed a part of its century-old legacy through Vintage Pen Museum, which showcased 46 exclusive pens crafted by Sheaffer in the past 100 years. Some of these pens were pioneers in the field of writing instruments.

“William Penn is Sheaffer’s largest independent distributor in the world and our two companies have been associated for over a decade – a partnership which has seen rapid growth for both our company’s network of stores and Sheaffer’s market share in India. Together, we have great plans for the future and look forward to another century of excellence from Sheaffer,” Mr. Nikhil Ranjan, CEO – William Penn, said.
