Second seed Anannya once again beats top seed Aryaa to clinch second crown

Mumbai, January 19: Anannya Morey continued with her superb winning streak to clinch a second title within a month by clinching the girls’ under-19 crown in the Indian Squash Professional (ISP) organised Rs one lakh prize-money Otters Club – ISP Classic Squash tournament, and played at the Otters Club courts, Bandra. This is the 120th tournament to be conducted by ISP.
In a repeat of last month’s NSCI-ISP final, the second-seeded Anannya once again dished out a strong, domineering performance to quash the aspirations of top-seeded Aryaa Ogale coasting to a fluent 11-9, 11-7, 11-4 triumph to walk away with the top honours.
There were no such problems for Aryaman Adik, the top seed in the boys’ under-19 event as went on to sideline joint 3rd-4th seed Tushar Shahani 11-6, 8-11, 11-6, 11-5 in the final.
Aryaman’s younger brother Advait completed a grand double for the family by winning the boys’ under-15 title. The number one seed Advait easy prevailed over Suraj Chand winning by a quick 11-8, 11-5, 11-3 margin in the final.
Rahul Baitha, the top seed, won the boys’ under-17 title defeating Neel Joshi 8-11, 11-7, 11-5, 11-9 in the final.
In the final for Professionals, second seed Rohit Kadam recovered after the loss of the first game to put it across top seed Sanjay Pawar posting a 6-11, 12-10, 12-10, 11-2.
