Anchor Awards 2015 Grand Finale in New Delhi

January 23, 2016, New Delhi– Anchor by
Panasonic in collaboration with Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID)
recognizes & honors the finest efforts in the field of Interior Design. The
IIID – Anchor awards are presented to dynamic designers who demonstrate
excellence in their field every year.
This is the 18th year of the IIID Awards
and the fourth year of collaboration with Anchor Electricals to host the said
awards. Fine tuned with a unique format for all these
years these awards become a great platform to celebrate design in its truest
sense.They are conducted at two levels – a regional round and a national round;
with the winners of the regional round automatically qualifying for the
national adjudication. This ensures a widespread participation that in turn
brings into the spotlight emerging talent from across the country. The Senior
Management of Anchor Electricals Pvt. Ltd as well as IIID was present at the
function. Zonal awards for the fourth Zone covering North and East India as
well as National Awards were awarded at the said event.

We are pleased to be a part of such an initiative that helps professionals and upcoming designers exhibit their skills and talent. The growing stature of these awards will surely add new design icons to the industry. Eminent architects, interior designers,
design consultants, academicians, artists and editors as jury holistically
review and critique the designs in a process that is very transparent and
efficient. This year the award trophy was designed by the renowned designer
Michael Foley. Anchor also launched its
new range of Roma Plus Premium Modular Switches & Accessories at the venue.
President
IIID, Mr.Pratap Jadhav said, “With each successive year, we innovate the process
of awards to match upto the global standards. The intent is to inspire and
invigorate the design fraternity and the country at large, initiate a thought
provoking and sustained dialogue with designers and members from affiliated
design field and experience the design pulse of the nation.” Architect Tanuja B. K.,Chairperson IIID Anchor Awards Committee stated, “The
synergy built up with the Pan India entries, the jury process, the subsequent
celebratory award evenings across the zones have been an exhilarating
experience. The jury dictat is a pointer to the current trend in design in the
country and with a view to raise the bar of design by making IIID Anchor Awards
a global event.
ArthaStudio and Khosla Associates were declared winners and
runner up for residential single dwelling while Aamir & Hameeda Associates
took away the runner up award for residential
multi-dwelling.
The Retail category had three winners
namely Formwerkz Design Team, Studio for Architecture Landscape Int.& Ent.
Pvt Ltd, while Gaikwad's Interior Design Studio took away the runner up award.
Core was declared winner for Commercial
Workplace Small while Manthan Architects bagged the Commendation in the said
category. Commercial Workplace Large found shared Runner up awards with Praxis
Inc& Lab Language Architecture Body.
Leisure and entertainment category took
away the Winner, Runner up as well as Commendation prizes with Khosla
Associates, Usine Studio and Fadd Studio.
With no Winner or Runner up the
Hospitality Commendations were given to Surat Anjali Associates and Spaces
Architects.
The Institutional and Public Spaces Category
saw three runner ups in SDEG, Rajesh Patel & Architecture Discipline. Product or Furniture Design saw Winner
& commendation with Archohm Consultants and Hundred designs.
Divyang Mevda of Formwerkz Design Team was
awarded the Young Interior Designer of the year, while Prasanna Desai
Architects and Sfurna Designs were recipients of Winner and Commendation awards
for the New category of this year named “Affordable Design for the Masses.”
With 11 categories in total and one
category solely for the National, this year the awards witnessed the highest
number of entries.
