Celebrating Women’s Day with Manubhai Jewellers’ Art from the Heart

by Shrutee K/DNS

Incepted back in 2014, ‘Art from the Heart’ is an annual Woman’s Day event where Manubhai Jewellers ties up with a women centric NGO that works towards women empowerment. Being a brand with almost 90% of its staff comprising of women, this day becomes important for Manubhai Jewellers.

The brand has taken a positive step towards supporting woman empowerment by providing deprived women with a platform to showcase and sell their products. These women are a group of skillful artisans from the slums of Mumbai who are trained by Srujna Handicrafts. However, the prospects for them to essentially sell their products are very restricted. To stand in conjunction with such deprived women, Manubhai Jewellers has attempted to bridge this gap between the customers and the artists.

The ‘Art from the Heart’ retrospective will be a 4 daylong event from 5th March to 8th March at the Manubhai Jeweller’s Borivali West Store where the NGO will unveil and sell their handicraft products. The handmade products include jute bags, pen stands, cloth & bead necklaces, kurti’s & skirts, pouches, apparels, and a range of articles like lamps, planters, bowls, trays etc made of jute that is painted with organic colors.
