INDUS TOWERS COLLABORATES WITH GURGAON TRAFFIC POLICE TO STRENGTHEN ROAD SAFETY

Gurgaon, 29 March 2016: Indus Towers, the country’s largest telecom tower company today strengthened its commitment towards contributing to the highest standards of health and safety for the communities it operates in. Indus Towers has announced its association with Gurgaon Traffic Police to ensure road safety by disbursing 4000 traffic cones. The occasion was graced by Mr. Navdeep Singh Virk, Commissioner of Police in Gurgaon, and Mr. Saurabh Singh, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police, Gurgaon. Being a socially responsible corporate, Indus Towers has time and again been devoted towards the well-being of the environment and the local citizens.


Indus Towers, previously has undertaken various safety initiatives to protect the Environment, Safety and Health of all its stakeholders; whether its employees, associates or the people in the society, directly or indirectly involved in its operations and physical assets.  The company organized the ‘Hero Week’ across 15 of its circles in India to create broader awareness about Road Safety amongst its eco-system. With the help of the local Traffic Police, this week-long programme on safety awareness witnessed tremendous response from employees and general public across cities. Other initiatives organized by Indus Towers for this cause include ‘ismart isave’ for site-office-home and road safety, and ‘iFIGHT’ for the inspection and hygiene of two-wheeler and four-wheeler vehicles. The company also partnered with Gurgaon traffic police for Care Free day in 2015. Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Bimal Dayal, CEO - Designate, Indus Towers, said, “At Indus Towers, we are committed to our values - Environment, Safety and Health and our association with the Gurgaon Traffic Police is a step to help in managing the traffic in an effective manner and ensuring safety of the people on the roads”.

Present at the occasion, Mr. Navdeep Singh Virk, Commissioner of Police, Gurgaon said, “Road safety has always been a cause of concern and it is our utmost responsibility to take all precautionary measures. This association is an effort to manage traffic well and encourage people to be safe and responsible.
