3rd INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA 2017 IN TEL AVIV ISRAEL

AllIndia, June 14, 2017. The 3rd International Yoga Day will take place in Rabin Square in the center of Tel Aviv on the longest day of the year, June 21st, 2017.  The programme in Tel Aviv is expected to draw thousands of participants who will join in several parallel yoga sessions including Iyangar, Ashtanga, Tri-Yoga and Vinyasa yoga. In addition, there will be a session of Acro-Yoga and a yoga session for children. There will also be an Ayurveda information booth.  The program will start at 18:00 and at 20:00 there will be an official ceremony attended by the Ambassador of India in Israel together with a performance of Indian dance and songs. Dr. Rohit Sabharwal, a renowned yoga teacher from the Art of Living stream of Yoga is coming from India in order to lead Yoga Day celebrations. Entrance to the event is free of charge.
 

The International Yoga Day was initiated by the Prime Minster of India, Mr Narendra Modi and was adopted by the United Nations with a Resolution that was co-sponsored by 177 countries.  The event in Tel Aviv is being organized by the Embassy of India in Israel together with the Tel Aviv Municipality, Israeli Ministries of Culture & Sport, Tourism, Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister’s Office. The year 2017 is an important one for India Israel bilateral relationship.  The two countries celebrate the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations.  After the successful visits by the two Presidents to each other’s country in the last 2 years, the Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi will be making a historic visit to Israel, the first ever by an Indian Prime Minister.
