THE COMPANY RECORDS A GROWTH RATE OF 26% M-o-M AMIDST THE LOGISTICS SECTOR’S EXPECTED GROWTH RATE OF 8-10% OVER THE MEDIUM TERM

February 20, 2019 – DOT, India’s fastest growing green mobility solutions provider to major E-Commerce and Food-Tech aggregators via hi-speed 2 & 3 wheeler Electric Vehicle, will extend its footprints in 600 towns by 2020. Currently operating in over 20 cities including Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Lucknow, Chandigarh and Bengaluru to name a few, DOT’s extensive geographical expansion plans over the next few years include presence over 17 states in India. Internationally, DOT aims to expand to Canada by mid-2019, South-East Asia by 2019 end and China by the end of 2020.

The company has been recording impressive growth month on month. It has been clocking at 26% M-o-M for revenues and 25% M-o-M for deliveries. DOT has demonstrated highest ratio of deliveries to fleet size. It is a fastest growing player in the industry owing to its sectoral diversification and hybrid model of employing drivers/rider members. The company is also operationally profitable since inception due to green vehicle cost efficiencies.

The current size of the last mile logistics market is more than $1 Bn in India and is poised to grow to over $3 Bn by 2022. “We are outdoing the industry growth rates. While the industry clocked in a CAGR of close to 7.8% over the past 5 years, we have a vision 2020 that has grown beyond bounds to outdo the figure. We have recently added Raipur, Jhansi, Meerut, Haridwar and Phagwara which have been growth trigger for DOT in the green mobility sector”, said, Vineet J Mehra, Founder of DOT.

A champion of “Make in India” and “Skill India” initiatives, DOT offers mass employment opportunities to individuals across tier 1, 2 & 3 cities in the country. The riders at DOT have the option to work on both contract as well as full time basis and are liable for minimum guaranteed earnings irrespective of the deliveries done. Further adding to this, Mr. Vineet Mehra, Founder, DOT, said, “We at DOT are aligned to become the largest platform for employment creation in this sector by 2022.”

A growing number of Last and First Mile delivery startups are showing a bright ray of hope for the logistics industry in India.  Looking to create a value ecosystem, these startups are focusing on working with sellers in organized and unorganized sectors, becoming the link that improves their logistical cost efficiency simultaneously. There are firms like DOT that provide green logistics services and focus on sustainable development which is an idea ahead of its times. To address the concern of greenhouse emissions where transportation is a major contributor, the logistics industry needs to stay abreast with modern technologies and automobiles that can cut down on CO2 emissions. This can further be achieved by the adoption of a transformation strategy relating to use of electric vehicles to fulfill the promise of reducing carbon intensity for a sustainable future.
