118th SLBC Meeting


 

Bank of Maharashtra, Convener Bank for SLBC- Maharashtra organized 118th State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC) meeting on 26.03.2013 at its Head Office, Pune.

Shri Narendra Singh, Chairman & Managing Director, Bank of Maharashtra and Chairman, SLBC - Maharashtra presided over the meeting.  Shri Munaf Hakim, Chairman, Maharashtra State Minorities Commission, Shri J. B. Bhoria, Regional Director Maharashtra & Goa, Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai, Ms Phulan Kumar, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Nagpur, Shri M. V. Ashok, Chief General Manager, NABARD, Pune, Mr. C. VR. Rajendran, Executive Director, Bank of Maharashtra, Shri Madhukar Choudhari, Commissioner, Cooperation and Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Maharashtra State, senior officers of Reserve Bank of India, NABARD, State Government, Sponsoring Commercial Banks, Managing Director of Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank and Chairmen of Regional Rural Banks participated in the SLBC meeting.
 
Chairman, SLBC complimented the Banks for commendable achievement under disbursement of Crop Loans as of February 2013 and assured the house that the achievement would be exceeding 100% at the end of March 2013.
 
The issues relating to increasing the pace of disbursement to agriculture sector, particularly crop loans where DCCBs are weak, continuing the steps taken last year well before the beginning of Kharif season, undertaking steps for mitigating drought situation in Maharashtra including restructuring of existing loans and additional support, credit to SHGs, achievements under various Government Sponsored schemes, flow of credit to minority communities, constructions of buildings where Government of Maharashtra has allocated the lands for setting up of Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs), enhancing credit to MSME, release of funds by Government of Maharashtra under various categories, Debt Waiver Schemes for various Government Sponsored Schemes, Financial Inclusion issues such as Ultra Small Branches, payment of NREGA benefits exclusively through bank accounts of the beneficiaries, FI, Preparedness for Direct Benefit Transfer soon to be rolled out all over the country etc. were discussed in the meeting.
 
Standing by the farmer community in these difficult days to fight and overcome the drought situation for overall economic growth of the State of Maharashtra, Preparation of Annual Credit Plan 2013-14, Fast disposal of cases under Government sponsored schemes, Increasing flow of credit to minority communities, Convening special DLCC meetings for discussions & finalization of strategies on Drought in Maharashtra State, Providing need based finance to the beneficiaries under financial inclusion and Construction of buildings and increasing the settlement ratio of RSETIs were some of the important decisions taken in the meeting.
 
Shri A.A. Magdum, General Manager, Bank of Maharashtra and Convener,  SLBC – Maharashtra  welcomed  the  participants. Shri L. M. Deshmukh, Deputy General Manager & Member Secretary, SLBC - Maharashtra piloted the agenda-wise discussions in the meeting.
 
Shri Narendra Singh, Chairman, SLBC gave concluding remarks on the discussions of the meeting and Shri C. VR. Rajendran, Executive Director, Bank of Maharashtra proposed vote of thanks.
