Godrej Eon celebrates Women’s Day by announcing the

‘Woman of Substance’ Award

in association with

 Ponds Femina Miss India 2013

 

Mumbai, 8^th March, 2013: As part of its continuous efforts in strengthening its relationship with the women consumers, Godrej Eon announced the ‘Woman of Substance’ Award in association with Pond’s Femina Miss India 2013 at Mumbai today on the occasion of Women’s Day. The event was attended by Mr. Kamal Nandi, Exe. VP, Sales & Marketing, Godrej Appliances & Mr. Nilesh Gupta, Managing Parnter,Vijay Sales along with Ms. Rochelle Rao, Femina Miss India International 2012. She spoke about this unique contest initiated by Godrej Appliances and the cause of women against the background of women’s day.

Unlike a beauty pageant which seeks to felicitate women on the basis of beauty and overall personality, the Godrej Eon ‘Woman of Substance’ Award will honor women from amongst millions of ordinary Indian women. These are the ones who do not make headlines but through their silent efforts, they have enriched their own lives or made a difference in the lives of those around them and sometimes even taken up the mantle of social causes bravely, without bothering about accolades and adversity.

The Godrej Eon Femina Woman of Substance contest is meant to felicitate these seemingly ordinary women who have gone far beyond the realms of ordinary and I am extremely happy to be part of this unique initiative.”

Godrej believes no effort is big or small and that every effort requires profound courage, dedication and substance. These women are indeed the real beauty queens of India and the Woman of Substance initiative is a humble effort on part of both Godrej Eon and Femina to honor these women.
