Colors Screen Awards welcomes the next 100 years of Indian Cinema



Mumbai 7 Jan 2013:Colors, one of India's leading Hindi Entertainment Channels is all set for the 19th annual Screen Awards, the 1st ever awards ceremony of year 2013. The finalists for the 19th Annual Colors Screen Awards are chosen from a master list of 119 movies by an outstanding jury comprising of veterans actors, new age directors, cutting edge technicians, singers like Hema Malini, the jury chairperson along with Sadhana Nayar, Jehtu Mandal, Rajat Arora, Alka Yagnik, Nishikant Kamat, Rajukumar Gupta, Padmini Kolhapure, Nageesh Kuknoor, Vikramaditya Motwane and Santosh Sivan.

Representing the new generation will be none other than Ranbir Kapoor who will be showcasing a tribute to Bollywood along with his mother and veteran actor Neetu Singh. The Awards, hosted by the indomitable Shahrukh Khan will have performances by new students of the year – Siddharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhat, Sonakshi Sinha , Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra.
Commenting on his association with Colors Screen Awards, Ranbir Kapoor said, “It's a moment of pride and honour for me to represent Bollywood in all its glory. I belong to a family that has served Bollywood for 84 years, and I hope to take this legacy forward. It is a privilege to be a part of the Colors Screen Awards, a platform that honour’s professional excellence in the Indian film industry”.
Speaking on the Awards, Priyanka Sinha Jha, Editor Screen said, “Over the years the Screen Awards have recognized excellence in Hindi and Marathi cinema in the fields of acting, direction, sound, choreography, music and scripting. This year will see the Awards embrace the new generation of talent in Bollywood encouraging a new wave of thinking that will have the potential to chart the story of next 100 years of Indian cinema”.
Raj Nayak, CEO, Colors added, “If last year was about celebrating 100 years of Indian Cinema, 2013 is the beginning of the next 100 years. I am delighted to present Colors Screen Awards – 2013, the first Awards in the country in the New Year. Colors Screen Awards will be telecast on Saturday, 19 January 2013 at 8 pm.
