Kansai Nerolac launches “Paint the Change” initiative


Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd., one of India’s leading paint companies, launched its new initiative “Paint the Change” to encourage consumers to donate unused or left-over excess paints towards structures across the country that are in need of beautification and renovation.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. H.M. Bharuka, Managing Director of Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd said, “Sustainability forms the core of our corporate philosophy. While we have always been providing products that are safe and minimize impact on our environment; Paint the Change is our endeavor to create a platform to empower consumers to make the change around them thus helping them to invest in a greener future.”
To participate, consumers would have to contact their nearest collection centres volunteered by paint dealers who would collect the unused paint from them. The consumers can also drop the unused paint at Nerolac offices, depots & showrooms. There is no specific criterion on the quantity of paint to be donated and paints belonging to any brand would be accepted. The dealers would deposit the paints collected from the consumers at the nearest designated depot centres identified by Nerolac across India which would serve as repositories of the donated paint. Nerolac is going to be associated with a prominent NGO which would assist in the collection, recycling and execution of the painting at the nominated site. Apart from consumers, the initiative will also extend its outreach to dealers, contractors and painters who would contribute by means of retail space for collected paint and manhours for the painting of the structure. Alternatively consumers could also log on to the website and contribute digital swatches of paint towards the cause.
Consumers will also be involved in the selection of the site to be painted. A dedicated facebook page would allow customers to upload photographs of the sites that are in a dire need of a revamp on the dedicated facebook page. The top 25 sites would be shortlisted by Nerolac, out of which the one receiving the maximum likes and touching maximum lives, would undergo the makeover.
