L’Oreal Professionnel launches Retro Nouveau Color Collection 2013

L’Oreal Professionnel - the Parisian house of Hairdressing believes in bringing the latest in hair fashion trends from the international fashion runways to India.
In line with this fashion philosophy, it has launched the Retro Nouveau Color collection 2013 - A new fashion forward twist to retro hair designs.
The 50-60’s era saw some of the most stylish Fashion icons in the world and these iconic women continue to inspire the world of fashion as symbols of glamour, elegance, and style even today.  It is in these golden age icons namely Elizabeth Taylor, Twiggy Lawson and Brigitte Bardot - that L’Oreal Professionnel has found its inspiration for its Color collection. Retro trends are currently in vogue on the international ramps for instance the ‘Twiggy cut’ has been emulated by celebs like Emma Watson etc. in real life and has graced the covers of various magazines and international runways.
Taking this international collection and step further the L’Or顬 Professionnel Dream Team has designed its India interpretation with cuts, colors and styles created specifically for the Indian woman and meant to reveal her glamorous icon.
The Color Collection uses a new color technique ‘Shadow Illusions’ with cuts and styles that are on-trend while retaining the 60’s signature. The 3 color bases used in the collection with INOA and Majirel colors are suited for Indian hair and skin tones, making fashionable color very wearable and suited for various hair lengths (long, medium and short)
The team of Dhruv Abhichandani & Vipul Chudasama re-created the 3 iconic looks – highlighting 3 signature hair designs – the fringe, the tousled bob and the bouffant.
Vipul Chudasama, L’Oreal Professionnel Dream Team says, “Fashion moves cyclically and 2013 will see the retro look come back, but with a twist. The Retro Nouveau look is best represented in the newly launched Loreal Professionnel color collection 2013 which is a boon for hair stylists and fashion followers alike. The Shadow Illusion technique used brings out multiple hues and gradation in the hair color moving from a dark base to lighter ends. It also captures the bright and deep colors that are in vogue this season and best suited for the Indian skin palette.”
Dhruv Abhichandani “The Retro Nouveau Color collection 2013 is all about the return of glamorous icons in a new avatar. I was inspired by the ultimate glamour icons Liz Taylor and Brigitte Bardot. We took the idea of the famous curly do for Liz and modernized it by adding a lot more lighter, brushed out curls. For Bardot, our new take on the classic bouffant was to add texture to the rest of the hair enhanced with the shadow illusion technique which helped create separation and lightness within the style.  The color can be recreated at a professional salon, where as the styles can be adapted and worn in multiple ways.”
Aseem Kaushik, Director Professional Products, Loreal India says ‘At LP we believe in being on-trend when it comes hair fashion and so we are launching The ‘Retro Nouveau Collection’ – which is the contemporary twist to retro fashion. The 50’s -60’s were a glorious period that gave us Icons whose fashion statements are relevant even today. Reworked and interpreted by the Loreal Profesionnel Dream Team, this color collection has both an artistic palette for the hairstylist to work with as well as glamorous but wearable looks for the consumer’

ABOUT SHADOW ILLUSIONS TECHNIQUE:
To create this effect, a zigzag section is created around the head on hair that has been pre-cut. Then a combination of 2 color shades are used- a darker shade on the roots and the hair below the zigzag pattern, and lighter shade on the ends of the hair above the zigzag pattern on mid-lengths and tips.
Shadow Illusion Technique Light base- This look can be achieved by applying INOA 6.23 Cool brown color at the roots and INOA 8.13 Cool beige color at the ends. The look is inspired by Twiggy named as Ingenue Blond best suited for hair that is shorter.
Shadow Illusion Technique Medium base- This Siren Copper look, inspired by Brigette Bardot, can be achieved by applying Majirel 5.15 Light Ash Mahogany Brown color on the roots and Majirel 7.4 Copper Blonde.
Shadow Illusion Technique Dark base- This look is inspired by Liz Taylor and is called the Violet Vixen look. One can achieve this look using INOA 4.56 Red/Mahogany on the roots and Majirel 6.62 Red Blonde.
