Maruti Suzuki organises Colors of Youth 2012, a Talent Hunt

The Hyderabad city round of Maruti Suzuki ‘Colors of Youth 2012, a prestigious event that provides platform for professional colleges-Engineering and Mangement students to showcase their way of life and passion, was held at ICFAI Business School here in city on Saturday. This round of the annual national contest organied on Saturday saw participation by over 150 students from several professional colleges like IBS, TRK College of Management, BCIT, Chaitanya, Spoorthy Engineering colleges in and around Hyderabad.
The eminent panel of judges include noted bollywood actress and model Eesha Koppikar. Subir Malik, a keyboard player par excellence and the driving force behind youth rock band Parikrama was the other judge.
The talent hunt was conducted in categories like Music, Dance, Painting, Innovation etc. Few students were picked up from the contest who were subjected to personal interview and then will be sent for a regional round to be held in Bangalore, where they contest with winners from southern states. They they will fight in nationals to be held in Delhi. The hunt will be aired on MTV.
The eventual national winner will drive home a Maruti Suzuki A Star, a car that gives a new definition to the new generation. Incidentally,

The atmosphere at Colors of Youth was festive and electrifying right from 9 am in the morning when registrations began. The variety of performances coming from far and wide catapulted the fest to all new level. Soumitra Joshi of IBS, Vaibhav Jindal, Ankit Jhunjhunwala, Suraj Prasad and other were shortlisted for the personal interview. Vaibhav Jindal and Ankit Jhunjhuwala performance of Lyrical Hip Off, Surja Prasad’s Robotics Hip off peroformances were highlight of the day. Ankit Jhunjhunwala as compared as junior Ajay Devgan by the Isha Koppikar, one of the judges for the talent hunt.
Commenting on the talent of the students of professional colleges one of the judges Subir Malik said events of like Colours of Youth will provide excellent opportunity for the youth to showcase their talent. 20 years back when I was young there were no such opportunities, he said and added that extra curricular activities are as much important as studies.
Colors of Youth 2012 will take place in 10 cities across India – Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad for south zone, Delhi/ NCR, Lucknow and Chandigarh in the north, Kolkata and Indore for East while west zone comprises Mumbai and Pune rounds.
Colors of Youth 2011 edition saw over 2500 participation from across India and auditions by almost 950 students. Participation were received from around 375 engineering and management colleges which includes IMT, BVIMR, Amity, IBS, Great Lakes, SIIB, IIM Lucknow, IIM Kolkata, IIM Indore, Pailan College, Jadhavpur University, Manipal University, Christ College and SP Jain among others.
