UBM India’s “Concrete Show India 2016, provides an unrivalled business opportunity for commercial & resident developers and contractors

Mumbai, 19th May 2016: Concrete Show India 2016, the three day (19th – 21st May) trade show hosted by UBM India. The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Shri. Eknath Sambhaji Shinde, Cabinet Minister, PWD (MSRDC, Public Undertaking), Government of Maharashtra. The other key dignitaries present were Shri Gajanan Kirtikar – Member of Parliament (MP); Shri. Varun Sardesai- Youth leader; Shri. S. M. Ramchandani, Joint Managing Director, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Ltd. (MSRDC); Shri. N. A. Viswanathan, Secretary General, Cement Manufacturers Association (CMA); Dr. Manamohan R Kalgal, President, Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) and Mr. Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, UBM India amidst an august industry gathering.

Shri. Eknath Shinde highlighted that the Concrete Show India will help bring in new technologies for the industry which will add value to new projects being initiated at State level. We would like Maharashtra to be the biggest contributor towards the ‘Make in India’ campaign. We have tied up with Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Ltd. (MSRDC) for construction of road projects and will be focusing on using advanced technologies which will help reduce the time taken for completion of such projects going forwardThe show brought together over 150 Indian and global suppliers and manufacturers from industries including concrete and construction, construction equipments, IT Systems and construction chemicals, all under one roof. Concrete Show India is an industry platform exclusively dedicated to the construction & infrastructure space covering key sectors like roads and highways, housing, airports, ports, power, rail, dams & bridges. Showcasing latest offerings and technologies in the industry, the expo has nearly doubled in size this year through the introduction of the key categories: Concrete & Construction, Construction Equipments and IT Systems and Construction Chemicals. This year marked a number of firsts for Concrete Show India. The expo featured international pavilions for the very first time and offered the largest outdoor area dedicated to the construction machinery segment in the West of India. The expo also offered digital B2B meetings as a special feature which enabled productive business discussions between the industry’s stakeholders.

The expo was well received by the industry at large with support from the Indian Concrete Institute (ICI), Builder Association of India (BAI), Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India) (ACCE), Indian Society of Structural Engineers (ISSE), The Institute of Engineers India (IEI), Indian Association of Structural Engineers (IAstruct), Indian Institute of Bridge Engineering (IIBE), Cement Manufactures Association (CMA), Construction Chemicals Manufacturers Association (CCMA) and Ready Mixed Concrete Manufacturers' Association (RMCMA).

Speaking on the inaugural of the Concrete Show India 2016, Mr. Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, UBM India said, “Today, India's need for infrastructure development is well supported by the Union Government’s mega push for the said sector. Lucid is an Indian manufacturer of Guar Gum and its derivatives and the first Indian company to manufacture in India a wide variety of products including customised grades under the Rheoluc® CM range for construction materials.

The first day witnessed Presentations on  topics such as Advances in Design Techniques for Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) Structures , Seismic Design of Multistorey Buildings, Modern Trends In Design And Construction Of Flyovers, Elevated Structures, Underground Structures and Tunnels  amongst others. Whereas, the second day will witness discussions on the following themes - Infrastructure, Bridge Design and Construction: Best Practices, Inspection, Repair, Rehabilitation And Maintenance of Bridges and other Structures, Quality Assurance System and TQM for Highway Projects and Concrete Admixture Technology amongst others.
