Mumbai, December 23rd : For the first time ever school kids will get an opportunity to compete in state-of-the-art sports facilities. Sports For All (SFA)-India’s Premier Inter School Sporting System, is organising an 8-day Sports Extravaganza for school kids at the D.Y. Patil Sports Stadium, Nerul, from December 24 to 31, 2015.
The SFA has put in place the best playing facilities for the budding children who will compete in 9 different Olympic sports (Basketball, Handball, Volleyball, Swimming, Squash, Badminton, Tennis, Table Tennis and Judo) over the week-long event. 6000 participants from over 300 schools of Mumbai will be part of the fiercest inter-school sports competition & carnival, SFA Mumbai 2015.
The SFA would also record all the matches of every discipline so that the kids and their coaches can later analysis their game. This will also help to know their deficiencies and work on them so that it will help them to improve.
Since sports injuries would be hard to avoid with children of different age group playing various sports at multiple venues at the stadium, SFA has designated a dedicated area for a care clinic and a specialized warm up zone for children to stretch and exercise.
Indian cricketer, ODI record holder and Captain of the Mumbai Indians franchise, Rohit Sharma, inspired by the idea has decided to support the initiative by serving as brand ambassador of the event.
The flamboyant batsman Rohit has paid the registration fees of close to 120 schools and which could not afford to pay to participate in the first of its kind sporting event for school kids in the Mumbai.
Backed with experience of being part of the core administrative set up of one of the world’s leading cricket franchises, aided with 12 years of experience in sports administration and the heart of a sportsman, Rishikesh Joshi, is the founder of Sports For All.
