Actress Deepika Deshpande speaks on her upcoming film FAN by Yash Raj Films
Deepika Deshpande born in Mumbai has been acting in films, stage, and television for several years. She has been part of hit films like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya and Raanjhana, Well Done Abba, Bewakoofiyan, Rajjo and The Rough Book. Her next release will be the much awaited YRF banner - Fan with SRK.
She received critical acclaim for her performance in the serial Siyaasat on the Epic Channel.She has worked in several popular TV serials like Junoon, 9 Malabar Hill, Samvidhaan by Shyam Benegal, Tashan E Ishq and Safar - winning the award for ' Most Promising Newcomer ' for the serial Farmaan. She was also nominated for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress.
She has worked extensively with Lillete Dubeys' theatre group Prime Time and been part of acclaimed theatre productions like Girish Karnad's Wedding Album and Boiled Beans on Toast. She began her career with Delhi's leading theatre group "TAG" and performed in several plays directed by the well known director Barry John.Others known actors working with TAG at that time were Lilette Dubey, Manoj Bajpayee, Ashish Vidyarthi, Divya Seth, Rituraj Singh. Other NSD actors like Raghuveer Yadav, Piyush Mishra and Gajraj Rao collaborated with TAG in plays. She has worked closely with them. Today they are respected and accomplished actors. This is due to their theatre training and grounding. Of course the most successful one is SRK.
