Over 150 children come together in support of Nickelodeon’s ‘TOGETHER FOR GOOD’

Mumbai, 22nd April 2016: It was an inspiring day for the citizens of Mumbai, as over 150 children came together to prove that cleanliness like the rest of India is on the top of their mind as well. Kick starting the campaign ‘Together For Good’ initiative by Nickelodeon, these children were seen collecting waste matter. The initiative has been brought alive with the support of Spark a Change Foundation.
Staying true to the philosophy of ‘Collect . Clean. Create’, children took it upon themselves to collect waste matter from around the locality, and with the help of a reckoned artist turned it into a beautiful art installation. Supporting this inspiring cause Mr. Ashish Shelar, MLA of Bandra along with the honorable Member of Parliament Poonam Mahajan as they encouraged everyone present to stand up for the cause of cleanliness. Also present was Nina Elavia Jaipuria, EVP & Head – Nickelodeon, Viacom18 along with some of the some popular characters like, Motu Patlu, Dora and SHIVA who kids love. As over 150 children took up the mammoth task of piecing together an art installation, a professional artiste helped them create spectacular art installation symbolic of a clean India.
Speaking about the initiatives Ms. Nina Elavia Jaipuria, EVP, Business head Nickelodeon, Viacom 18 said, “At Nickelodeon, we believe that children are change agents of tomorrow. We started Together For Good as a movement to inspire children to bring about a positive change in the world. It is a humbling experience to see kids having such profound and inspiring ideas for the nation and we are happy to have partnered with them for the same”. Speaking about the importance of such initiatives Mr. Ashish Shelar, MLA of Bandra said “It is extremely important for the future of the country, children to understand the importance of a clean environment. Such initiatives like Together for Good help create a more aware India that truly understands the importance of cleanliness. Children through this effort have inspired the whole nation once again.
Lauding the initiative Ms. Poonam Mahajan, Member of Parliament said,“This campaign by Nickelodeon is a brilliant step in the direction of progress towards becoming a cleaner and greener nation. These children who are the future of our country have surely influenced everyone around to take at least small but actionable steps towards a cleaner India thus showcasing the importance of such initiatives.”
Together for Good is Nickelodeon’s worldwide initiative that believes anyone, anywhere, any time can help make the world a better place. This is the first time that the movement has been launched in India with a vision to empower kids to be the change agents in society. This movement is also promoted on digital platforms on nickindia.com/TFG, and the page will help kids with simple but actionable steps that can be used for both, personal and environmental cleanliness. The movement will continue to on to Delhi and Gurgaon to continue spreading the message of ‘Together For Good.
